Charlie F. is the winner of this year's Extravaganza. After participating for a decade Charlie finally won while impressively picking 3 of the Final Four, 2 of which were #4 Seeds.
So, Charlie takes home the $2,250 prize.
Congrats Charlie! May you buy a new razor with your winnings.

And then there were four!
Pictured above: Hot time in the old town tonight.
With Marquette getting gunned down by Syracuse and Ohio State falling to Wichita State, Ryan C, Tracy W, Shelby W, Corey W, Anabelle/Lucy, and Flo W's dreams of ganza riches went down in flames. Left standing are Michael S, David G, Mo/Lucas, and Charlie F. If Michigan beats Florida tomorrow, Charlie F will be the last man standing, and one happy fellow. If Florida wins, the other three will need a tie-breaker to decide it. Good luck to all!

Down Goes Frazier!
In stunning fashion, 23 more Ganzans (including many past champions) joined the wound licking Adam S and were knocked out of the competition thursday night. With mighty Indiana getting schooled by Syracuse and Marquette sticking it to Miami, not only were those who couldn't still accumulate 2 points eliminated, but also those who only have Florida/Louisville, Florida/Duke, Florida/Ohio St/Louisville, Michigan St/Ohio St, or just Michigan St left. This is so by virtue of other contestants having either Marquette/FLA, Syracuse/FLA, Marquette/Mich St, or Syracuse/Mich St, making it impossible for those previously mentioned to win. Soooooo, sorry Dillinger, Audrey L, Natalie/Hannah, Ellen D, Andrew C, Phillip P, Julie G, Kristin S, Trevor G, Michael F, Frank G, Ed L, Lisa L, Peter B, Richard D, Eric S, Paul P, Curt J, Steve P, Ryder G, Frank/Rowan, Roman H, and David D. Better luck next year.
When reached for comment about still having three teams left, yet being knocked out, Richard D did his best Simon Cowell impression for the cameras (see below).

Adam S. and Eric S. are first-time participants in the Extravaganza. They also happen to be brothers. One of them has earned the dubious distinction of being the first, and only, person eliminated from this year's tourney.
Due to the presence of a number of underdog teams that no one selected it was virtually impossible to be eliminated at this point in the 'Ganza. All that was required to remain alive was the ability to score one point. Yes, one.
But Adam S. (the goofier looking one above) couldn't even manage to reach this extremely low threshold and was therefore sent packing. Well, Adam, we hope that your thorough embarrassment won't deter you from participating next year.
But we'll understand if you decide it was all just to much to bear.
Vaya Con Dios!

March Madness kicks off with Major Carnage!
Above are ganza co-chairs Corey W and Michael S watching Wisconsin and Kansas State go down in flames, giving Gonzaga a virtual cakewalk to the Elite 8.While nobody is yet eliminated from this year's Final Four Extravaganza, the weekend got started off with a few damaging blows. Combining #2Georgetown and #3New Mexico's losses, approximately 20 ganzans had a team dropped from contention. Add to that #4Kansas State, #5Wisconsin, and #5Oklahoma State losing, and there was actually quite a bit of slashing going on. Four Ganzans (Dawn F, Ellen D, Adam S, and Kristin S) have only two teams left, with Ellen D and Kristin S's chances looking somewhat dire. That said, miracles can happen... although in this case, they probably won't. Sorry Ellen D and Kristin S.
This is Paul Ryan and Scott Walker. They and Wisconsin are losers. When reached for comment, they released a joint statement saying, "If it wasn't for Obamacare and those damned union workers, we'd still be in this thing!"

Let The Games Begin!
Above, some Extravaganza contestants check the picks page, eager to get started.
After a last minute onslaught of people calling the Extravaganza offices requesting delays and final adjustments to their picks, the books were finally closed late this evening, leaving us ready to roll with the 2013 NCAA Final Four Extravaganza! This year's entrants number 45, meaning the winner's pot will be a tidy $2250. Good luck to all.
Below are the Gonzaga Bulldogs. This annual underdog is a 2013 favorite.... Yea right.

Welcome Back My Friends!
Greetings all. It's once again time for the 24th Annual Final Four Extravaganza! In an effort to streamline and clarify the rules, Extravaganza Co-Founders Corey W. and Michael S., took a tax deductible junket to Disneyland. Their daughters came along to engage in high level talks with some of the Disney Princesses.
After much deliberation and great cash expenditures the rules have been sorted out. The results of these efforts can be found on the right side of this page under the heading "Rules". Catchy, no?
Please get your picks in to Michael S. or Corey W. by 9pm PDT on Wednesday the 20th of March.
Good luck and God Speed to all!
